JK Kim Dong-wook on Karina’s Political Controversy: “She’s Not Alone, Uncles Will Protect Her”

On May 31, JK Kim Dong-wook posted a photo of Kim Moon-soo’s campaign vehicle on his social media account, writing, “Karina is being fiercely protected by uncles everywhere, and the people are tirelessly supporting Kim Moon-soo day and night.” He added, “Let’s deliver a charismatic national message with strength,” stating, “I will be the last bastion of conservatism. As the guardian of this country’s liberal democracy, no one will hurt the hearts of the people without stepping over me.”
The term “uncles” used by JK Kim Dong-wook likely refers to individuals with conservative leanings. Some fans responded with comments like, “Uncles will protect Karina.”
Recently, aespa’s Karina sparked a ‘political color’ controversy after posting a photo wearing a red zip-up jacket with the number ‘2’ on it. As the controversy grew, Karina deleted the post, and her agency, SM Entertainment, stated, “Karina simply posted about her daily life on her account, with no political intentions whatsoever.”

Previously, JK Kim Dong-wook had remarked, “Someone once told me, ‘Since you don’t have an agency, you speak politically without hesitation.’ Nowadays, even idols from major agencies express their opinions boldly,” which led to speculation that he was indirectly referring to Karina.
In response, JK Kim Dong-wook clarified, “I said ‘idols,’ not Karina specifically. There are so many idols I know who support the ‘No. 2 side,'” emphasizing that he did not single out any specific individual.

JK Kim Dong-wook, a Korean-Canadian singer, is known for his outspoken conservative views and has been a vocal supporter of former President Yoon Suk-yeol and PPP candidate Kim Moon-soo.
